Sports clips4/12/2023 ![]() ![]() One of my favorite sayings is by Zig Zigler, who said, ‘You can have everything you want, if you help others get what they want.’ To me, that’s what franchising is about. Franchising has really been wonderful for Sport Clips. “That’s how we’ve run our business from day one, and I think it’s the right way to run a business because it helps you recruit and retain the best people. “This business is built on core values: do the right thing, do your best, and treat people the way they want to be treated,” Gordon says. It’s our commitment to our values that Gordon credits as the driving force behind all of our success. We only grow where we can support new stores, and we only grow with entrepreneurs who share our values. While this may seem like explosive growth – in fact, Sport Clips has been extremely strategic about our growth strategy. In 2022, Sport Clips is quickly approaching 1,900 stores open across North America. By 2010, Sport Clips had 750 locations, and six years later, the brand doubled in size when it opened its 1,500th location. ![]() In five years, Sport Clips grew to 50 locations, and just two years later, Sport Clips celebrated the opening of their 100th store. Sport Clips began franchising in 1995, and very soon, their first franchise store opened in Houston, Texas. What started as one location in Austin, Texas, quickly blossomed into a national brand. It’s been more than 28 years and we’re just getting started.” A bright idea turned into years of sustained and strategic growth We felt like there was a real opportunity if we created a concept tailored strictly to men and boys, created an atmosphere where they would feel comfortable, and then trained our stylists on how to execute men’s haircuts. “In the early 90’s, I found that no one was going after the men & boys’ market and I like going into a niche where no one else is playing. “I’ve been in this industry since 1979,” Gordon says. As an industry veteran who had been in the salon industry for decades, Gordon knew that by focusing only on men and boys haircuts, he could capitalize on what was a tremendously underserved niche. Gordon founded Sport Clips in 1993 – opening a prototype store in Austin, Texas. Where the majority of the industry didn’t see anything at all, Gordon Logan saw a big opportunity. In fact, men were invisible to the majority of the industry, and going after a male customer base was considered a waste of time. Neighborhood barber shops were vanishing, and there wasn’t a national brand that catered specifically to men and boys haircuts. In the early nineties, men had very few options to get their hair cut. How Sport Clips became one of the highest regarded franchise systems in the nation ![]()

Song join together with the band4/12/2023 ![]() ![]() ![]() So I guess for me, Join Together gets the nod. I almost never listen to Who's Last or disc one of Join Together, but disc two of JT makes a fun listen from time-to-time. Less than half of it is Moon-era stuff, which means I don't have to remember superior Keith versions when listening. On the plus side, disc two of Join Together is a creative mix of songs we don't usually hear from the band. His drum parts are essential to the songs. ![]() Listening to The Who perform Tommy (particularly a complete performance of the whole thing) with anyone besides Keith is frustrating to me. Beyond that, there's no creativity in the extremely safe and predictable song list chosen, and the mix makes the band sound puny. Unfortunately, Who's Last doesn't seem to capture any good nights. On a good night (usually in 1979) the Who with Jones could be fantastic. The much-maligned Kenney was not a good fit for The Who, but he was a better fit than the bland efficiency of Simon Phillips. No great claims either way on the 3 song sampler. I think perhaps those might be three of the better ones from the 2 LP set. When Can't Explain opens, I feel like I'm hearing a better sound quality version of Clash City Rockers. He bashes away at the chords and plays a few short solos and brief riffs. Do you really think I care, What you read or what you wear, I want you to join together with the band, Theres a million ways to laugh, And every ones a path, Come on and join together with the band. There's a brief solo he takes at the end of MG that really reminded me of that. I want you to join together with the band. His tone reminded me of a slightly toned-down Slip Kid sound. All Join Hands: Traditional Music for Square Dancing by Various artists, released 01 January 2005 1. Love the sound of Pete's guitar and like his playing. Roger's vocals sound 'ok' and 'clear' but not particularly 'strong' or 'robust'. The drums 'sound' on the weak or mediocre side, though the playing is on time and active, they are also mixed a bit back imo. The bass guitar 'sounds pretty good' to me but is too far back in the mix imo. The tempos are moving forward at a decent to brisk clip. Join Together Lyrics: When you hear the sound a coming / Hear the drummer drumming / I want you to join together with the band / We dont move in any. ML-1 etched and TML-X stamped both sides. Hey hey hey hey hey hey, well everybody come on.Ĭome on and join, join together with the band, We need you to join together, everybody come on, Hey hey hey, join together with the band.Fwiw I just listened to the much sought-after and highly collectibe rare species 12" WLP of 3 songs from Who's Last. This is the biggest band you'll find, It's as deep as it is wide, Come on and join together with the band. It's the singer not the song, That makes the music move along, I want you to join together with the band. We don't know where we're going, But the season's right for knowing, I want you to join together with the band. You don't have to play, You can follow or lead the way, I want you to join together with the band. We need you to join together, come on and join together, Come on and join together with the band. ![]() There's a million ways to laugh, And every one's a path, Come on and join together with the band.Įverybody join together, I want you to join together, Come on and join together with the band. Angband game4/12/2023 ![]() No one except the author, who tracked down the creators of a handful of foundational games for an entire genre, interviewed them and spun the history into a cohesive narrative. Dungeon Hacks is the definitive text on early roguelikes-a genre that hasn’t been generified like “xerox” to “copy”, “DOOM-clone” to “first-person shooter”, “Kleenex” to “tissue.” So the foundation- Rogue-is still in the name. Dragons have lots of disadvantages, but she went on to win the game anyway. She slips on the ring, drinks the potion of polymorph, specifies “black dragon,” then slips on the amulet. She found the ring of polymorph and an amulet of polymorph control. One player started playing a character whose ambition in life was to be a dragon. Watching others play creates a micronarrative, a communal experience like hearing about a Nethack ascension run, reading the touchstone Dwarf Fortress boatmurdered saga, or losing an afternoon deep in the intrigue of EVE Online: Although it’s not important to the game, some of the most fun you can have with roguelikes actually doesn’t involve playing them, but involves going into the Usenet groups and reading players’ stories about their games. It is the difference between me running some laps in the park against seeing Allyson Felix compete in the Olympics: sure, we’re both running, but only one of us elevates it to an artform. Also, I'll say that although roguelike fans will get the most out of this book, neophytes should enjoy it, too.Īpex Legends released recently to roaring acclaim a behemoth on twich, the hype got me to try it-I even scraped together a win-but I quickly gave up and went back to watching professionals play. The end result is a collection of stories that are meant to be read in chronological order, but can be cherry-picked if, say, readers are more interested in Moria than they are NetHack. My interest in writing about them stemmed from interviews I did for STAY AWHILE AND LISTEN, wherein I explore the making of Diablo, which was influenced by roguelike games.Īs is usually my approach when writing about game development, I wrote about the games covered in DUNGEON HACKS through the lens of the era in which they were made: the shared interests and factors that influenced their creators, and how the technology they used informed their designs. (I'm counting it toward books read in 2016 because I spent this past weekend reading through and revising it.)ĭUNGEON HACKS chronicles the making of seminal roguelikes-RPGs with procedurally generated levels, monsters, and treasure. ![]() Instead, I'll talk a bit about the process of writing it. ![]() : SourceX tarball generation or download is documented.I wrote this book, so I won't cheat by leaving a star-rating or critique. : Patches link to upstream bugs/comments/lists or are otherwise : Package does not include license text files separate from upstream. angband-data should include the license file also or require angband. It's recommended to use the %make_build macro.Ĭurrently angband-data doesn't require angband, which could result in that package being installed without the necessary copying.rst file. It works right now because other buildrequirements pull in make as a dependency, but if that ever changes then the build will start failing. The spec file uses make, but there is no buildrequirement on make. ![]() You can simplify the %prep section by using %autosetup. There is a requirement for shadow-utils for %pre scriptlets, but there are no %pre scriptlets. Requires: SDL2 SDL2_image SDL2_ttf SDL2_mixer ncurses hicolor-icon-theme There are a few explicit requires that should be removed because they are already covered by the automatic library soname requirements (libSDL2-2.0.so.0, libSDL2_image-2.0.so.0, etc). I understand it's needed by the generate-tarball.sh script, but that isn't run during the build. ![]() I removed it and a test build works fine. Git doesn't appear to be needed to build. Here are the things I've noticed so far that should be corrected. ![]()

Macfamilytree vs ancestry.com4/12/2023 ![]() But when it gets complicated, you won’t be able to get a valid diagram from the programme. The issue remains also in version 10 and they have no plans to resolve it anywhere in the near future.īased on this experience, I believe MacFamily Tree is fine for standard straight forward family trees without any more winding relations. You provide a DNA sample the same way, but different SNPs related to health are tested. AncestryDNA has also expanded into the health-testing arena recently, offering a DNA health test for 149. You can of course print any of the statistics and share them with your relatives on paper. It took a while but they eventually explained to me what the problem was: They couldn’t explain though why recursions weren’t an issue until version 8, and then became such a problem since version 9. This varietal Sauvignon is similar to those of the vineyards of Sancerre. The Nièvre vineyard is spread over 1,200 hectares (3,000 acres), with 120 winemakers annually producing approximately 70,400 hectolitres (1,860,000 US gal). The climate is temperate with a slight tendency to continental. The soil consists of three major types: Kimmeridgian marl, hard limestone and flint clay. The terrain is slightly undulating because of the Loire which has created a valley Sancerre is on a promontory to the other side of the river. The following vineyard communes are to be found in the Nièvre, to the east of the Loire: Pouilly-sur-Loire, Saint-Andelain, Tracy-sur-Loire (village Boisgibault), Saint-Laurent-l'Abbaye, Mesves-sur-Loire, Saint-Martin-sur-Nohain, Garchy. Today a large part of the production is sold abroad, especially to Great Britain. Pouilly-Fumé has been an Appellation d'origine contrôlée (AOC) since 1937. After many unsuccessful attempts at treatment, the vines were uprooted in the early twentieth century and only part of the vineyard was replanted after grafting onto American rootstock. The vineyard was devastated and many cultivators had to redeploy. After the French Revolution of 1789, peasants were able to become owners of land and vineyards formerly possessions of the nobility and clergy.Īt the end of the nineteenth century, growers were faced with mildew and phylloxera. This wine was always exported by water navigation, especially after the opening of the Canal de Briare in 1642. The repurchase of Boisgibault lands in 1383 by Jean III de Sancerre demonstrates the proximity that has always existed between this vineyard and that of Sancerre, and their respective white wine production.ĭespite floods and low water, transport of Pouilly wines via the Loire was efficient and fast, due to the location of the vineyard. A plot of about 4 hectares (9.9 acres) overlooking the River Loire has retained the appellation Loge aux Moines (Monks’ Lodge), in memory of that era. The fiefdom and vineyards of Pouilly were transferred to the Benedictines of La Charité-sur-Loire for the sum of "3100 sous and a silver mark" towards the end of the eleventh century. Sacramental wine is traditionally white, less prone to staining, and the Benedictines developed the vineyards without seeking profitability. Middle Ages īenedictine monks commenced development of Pouilly-Fumé in the Middle Ages. The name derives from the Latin Pauliacum super fluvium ligerim (Pauliacum on the River Loire), reflecting the Roman road which passed through this locality. The area was a Gallo-Roman estate dating back to the early days of the Roman Empire. The vineyards of Pouilly-Fumé date back to the fifth century. "Fumé" also refers to the smoky bouquet (the renowned " gun flint aroma"), bestowed by the terroir vineyards of Pouilly-sur-Loire. At maturity, these grapes are coated with a grey bloom, the color of smoke-which explains why Pouilly winegrowers talk of "white smoke" to describe the type of vine or the wines made from it. ![]() Pouilly-Fumé is made purely from sauvignon blanc, a type of vine whose clusters are formed of small ovoid grapes, pressed against each other and resembling small bird eggs. Another white wine produced in the same area but with a different grape variety is called Pouilly-sur-Loire. Pouilly-Fumé is an appellation d'origine contrôlée (AOC) for the dry sauvignon blanc white wine produced around Pouilly-sur-Loire, in the Nièvre département. Not to be confused with Pouilly-Fuissé from Burgundy. ![]()

Final fantasy 16 release date4/12/2023 ![]() ![]() The combat systems need to be much more fluid-like combat in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey and NieR Automata. With real-time combat system in Final Fantasy XV was a breath of fresh air, however, Square Enix needs to further refine it. Both combat systems have their advantages and disadvantages and we’ll discuss both of them. A lot of hardcore fans raised concerns about being left out as they enjoy turn-based combat. I for one enjoy real-time combat but, that’s not the point. However, with the launch of Final Fantasy 15, the studio embraced a real-time combat system. As the year passed, Square Enix improved its turn-based combat system. With that in mind, here is my wishlist of features I would like to see in Final Fantasy 16.įinal Fantasy franchise started with turn-based combat. Over the years, Square Enix has introduced many innovations to the franchise. Wishlistįinal Fantasy franchise continues to grow and isn’t showing signs of slowing down. It’s time for Square Enix to join the club and it’s highly likely that Final Fantasy XVI will not only be open-world but will also feature a branching narrative that will unfold based on the player choice. ![]() The majority of the developers have adopted this approach to their open-world RPGs even Assassin’s Creed Odyssey has multiple endings depending on player choices. However, letting players make their own choices in the game and suffer consequences makes the experience more immersive. Linear story-telling is an incredible way to deliver an excellent experience. After all, we’re having trouble with the Garlean Empire being too powerful. On that note, personally speaking, I’d like to see a Final Fantasy that is straightforward fantasy, one that doesn’t have much machinery, and with no mecha in it. First, if you’re asking whether the Final Fantasy series will get another MMO soon, I think the chances are unlikely so long as Final Fantasy XIV is doing well. That’s funny, I thought FanFests were supposed to be fun, but here we are with this super hard question. Huh? Hmm, you guys are asking some tough questions. According to FFXIV director Naoki Yoshida: Seems like Square Enix has heard the fans of the franchise as the studio hinted that Final Fantasy 16’s world will feature more fantasy and won’t use mechs at all. Fans raised concerns over the prominent use of mechs and armed soldiers. I really enjoyed Final Fantasy XV, however, the game’s world was a mixture of technology and Fantasy. Meaning, Square Enix intends to support the MMO for a long time which rules out the possibility of FF16 being an MMO. Besides, game director Naoki Yoshida also hinted at PS5 and Xbox Scarlett enhancements for Final Fantasy 14. ![]()
